Nvidia has revealed its keynote address for the forthcoming Computex 2022 event on May 23. Team Green will “showcase how AI is powering the enterprise data center, as well as the most recent goods and technology for gamers and creators.”
The release also stated that a variety of new technologies and goods (from other industries) will be described as a result of the stacked speaker lineup:
- Ian Buck, vice president of accelerated computing
- Brian Kelleher, senior vice president for hardware engineering
- Ying Yin Shih, director of product management for accelerated computing
- Michael Kagan, chief technology officer
- Deepu Talla, vice president of embedded and edge computing
- Jeff Fisher, senior vice president for GeForce
Notably, Fisher stands out the most among the aforementioned six Nvidia executives who have been asked to appear at the CEO Keynote.
Fisher appeared at Nvidia’s CES 2022 conference to introduce one of the most powerful graphics cards currently available, the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, as VideoCardz correctly points out.
So, is Nvidia finally about to debut its much-touted next-generation RTX 40 GPUs? We’re not sure, but Fisher’s appearance could indicate that Team Green is getting ready to reveal its forthcoming GPU products.
An official quote from a GeForce executive suggested as much. “At the exhibition, Nvidia and our partners will announce new developments and products on both the enterprise and consumer fronts,” he said.
However, don’t be surprised if the next generation of GPUs is barely discussed. Based on the number of speakers from Nvidia’s AI section, the presentation’s main focus will undoubtedly be the blossoming artificial intelligence sector. However, teasing for Ada boards is possible.
Intel and AMD join the race
AMD, Nvidia’s long-time adversary, is also set to deliver its keynote on May 23. According to VideoCardz, Team Red CEO Lisa Su may reveal the widely awaited next-generation Ryzen series. We’ll have to wait and see if RDNA 3 is included in the presentation.
We’ve learned a lot about Nvidia’s RTX 40-series graphics cards since the beginning of 2022. The flagship RTX 4090, for example, is predicted to have twice the power of its predecessor, the RTX 3090. Industry insiders have suggested a September launch date.
Naturally, with such a significant increase in performance, we’ve heard that these cards will be some of the most power-hungry boards ever manufactured, with some claims claiming it may approach 600 watts. Some speculations even suggest a test board with a total graphics power (TGP) of 900 watts.
The keynote address, which will be delivered in digital format, is set for Monday, May 23 at 8 p.m. PT (UTC -7). According to Nvidia, the presentation will last one hour.
In other news, Intel may be joining Nvidia and AMD at Computex with its own presentation to unveil the Arc Alchemist desktop GPU series.
Even if Team Blue does present that range at the event, you’ll have to wait a few more months for it to hit shop shelves due to yet another delay.
