VideoPad Video Editor is a product designed to assist experts in the video editing industry in creating 3D videos with the use of visual effects and transitions.

A company may use the platform to make GIF videos with background music, subtitles, and variable playback speeds.

The system has a video stabilization feature, allowing users to lessen the impact of camera shake. Managers may export HD, 2K, or 4K quality videos and save them in formats compatible with the PlayStation Portable and Apple iPhone.

VideoPad is a video editor designed for home movie makers that provides the fundamental features that are most important to them. It is simple to pick up and put to use, and at the same time, it comes with a plethora of additional features that don’t get in the way but are available to you if you ever find the need for them.

VideoPad is one of the best Free Video Editing software programs currently available for several reasons, including these and many others.

This cross-platform video editor comes in several different flavors, each with its own set of features and pricing structure. What’s not to like about it?

Although we tried the licensed version of VideoPad for this review, we suggest you download the trial version first. It’s worth noting that the Mac app’s persistent request to confirm your choice to utilize the free version with every start might grow annoying after a while.

Retrospective of the VideoPad Video Editor

A standard license costs one lump sum payment, whereas a monthly subscription costs $5.50. For $70, you may get the Master’s Edition, unlimited audio tracks, and Windows plugin support. Only two audio tracks may be used with the $40 Home Edition, and it doesn’t support additional plugins.

An evaluation of the VideoPad’s user interface and intuitiveness

VideoPad’s clean design makes it easy for users of any experience level to pick up on its conventions and start making movies immediately.

You can tell your story by assembling clips in the timeline or storyboard mode after dragging and dropping video, audio, and still image assets into the files pane.

A stunning visual presentation may be created in little time by simply becoming proficient with opening and shutting windows, linking clips, and adding transitions, text, and narration.

The app’s way of categorizing video footage and still photographs ensures that you won’t get them mixed up on the timeline, which speeds up the process significantly, particularly for beginners.

VideoPad allows you to do all actions without leaving the main window, or you may reveal its dockable panels to have a better look at the details. You may use the app’s menus or drag-and-drop interface to achieve your goals. Please make lasting changes to your office layout.

Preview of the VideoPad’s Capabilities for Editing Videos

Whenever you use VideoPad, you may watch as much as you want. There aren’t many options, but you can choose from a variety of transitions when switching between movies and photographs, as well as a few filters to further customize their appearance. The capability to edit 360-degree footage and video stabilization are two more valuable capabilities.

You may preview the filters before applying them with a single click, mix and match them to create your own unique effect or template and tweak their duration using simple drop-down options.

You may add transitions, graphic effects, overlays, and text to your films using VideoPad. You may choose from various sound effects and ambient noises, and it comes with some essential audio tools.

Video playback speed, subtitles, and color correction are just some of the many enhancements that may be made. In addition to supporting special effects plugins in the premium edition (for Windows only), it also has a video stabilization tool that minimizes the appearance of camera shaking.

Features for editing audio on the VideoPad Video Editor

VideoPad Video Editor

While the audio editing features in VideoPad are limited, you may still use it to create a film’s score by blending existing sounds, adding new ones, or even recording your own voiceover.

You can fade, mix, and modify the audio level in a video clip, but if you want to do more, you’ll need a third-party mixer or editor. WavePad, NCH’s audio editor, may be downloaded directly from VideoPad’s main menu.

Ingenious concept, voice recognition for subtitles (only on the Windows version). The program’s text-to-speech functions, although always seeming fake, performed well, and you can record narration from inside the app itself.

Unfortunately, the reality falls short of the promise. The automated translation into subtitles was not very good, even with a video with a clear speech in a calm atmosphere.

What to Expect from the Share Screen on the iPad?

The program allows you to distribute films straight to platforms like Dropbox, Flickr, Google Drive, and Vimeo, making it perfect for video makers posting to YouTube or other social media. Avoid revealing personal information with the app by saving a video to your computer’s hard drive and then uploading it yourself.

Constant upgrades, as reviewed on the VideoPad Video Editor

NCH VideoPad receives near-constant updates from the developers. Therefore, both the Mac and Windows versions have a long history of maintenance releases.

While both the Mac and PC versions of the program share many of the same features, the PC edition does include some that the Mac version lacks.

Since we last evaluated VideoPad, the most visible change in the user interface is the app’s new dark but aesthetically beautiful charcoal grey color scheme. The calming off-white and lavender color scheme is still an option we enjoy.

If you want to create home videos or informative presentations for social media but don’t want to invest in a complex professional tool, try using VideoPad.

Newcomers may get up to speed fast with the system’s various video guides. VideoPad can be used on Macs and Windows, although Windows users can access many more options.

Home Studio with VideoPad

It’s a cross-platform video editor used to produce professional-grade clips. Both new businesses and seasoned pros may benefit from the software. It will make your life easier, from file selection to final video export.

Video files may be saved in various standard formats, including MP4, .3GP, AVI, and WMV. You may change the files on your computer, your YouTube channel, Vimeo, or in a cloud storage service like Dropbox, Google Drive, or Microsoft OneDrive. You can even make DVDs, and 3D video files, or modify the videos for use on a particular mobile device.

UI of Video Pad Editor

The user interface of VideoPad is based on certain standard, up-to-date patterns while also including some novel, appreciated innovations.

VideoPad’s user interface (UI) seems to have received far more attention to detail than those of competing apps. The UI designers did a great job locating the most often-used functions of a video editor, such as splitting the timeline and making them readily available.

Whenever you move the timeline pointer to a new position inside the timeline, a little box appears next to your mouse, giving you the option to clip at that precise position.

The context menus displayed when you right-click an element seem to provide more practical choices than rival apps.

Typically, a pop-up window will appear when you attempt to access further capabilities or add new components. This design decision is more at home in VideoPad than in other applications because of its incredible flexibility.

My experience with these pop-up windows has been quite positive. They provide easy access to all the user’s features and settings without being too overwhelming.

Final Thoughts

The free version of the VideoPad has many valuable features, and if you like how it operates, the price to unlock all of the premium ones is low.

Hitfilm Express is the best free video editing software because it has more features and is more scalable (you can buy more features if you need them), though iMovie is the best starting point for Mac users who are new to video editing. Similarly, paid options like CyberLink PowerDirector 18 and PowerDirector 365 provide more features.
